I’m Pro Vice Chancellor Education and Student Experience at London South Bank University, where I am also Professor of Addictive Behaviour Science. With over 20 years’ experience in the education field, I have a particular passion for widening access and participation for diverse and underrepresented groups, ensuring the promotion of inclusivity in the broadest sense. Having previously worked for several years as a special educational needs tutor for children with autism, I have seen first-hand the transformative impact of education, especially when children with special educational needs are given the right support early on in their development.

I am also Chair of London Uni Connect, who work with schools and colleges across London to ensure that young people are aware of the opportunities available in higher education. In addition, I am Chair of Governors for Engayne Primary School, a Director at Corbets Tey’s Routes 4 Life provision, and a Trustee of the national charity, Alcohol Change UK, who developed the original the Dry January campaign.

I hope that my expertise in the education sector, as well as my experience in organisational governance, benefits the board at Corbets Tey School. I am very proud to be a member of such an amazing community!
