Emma Allen

After originally joining the school as deputy in 2012. I feel privileged to serve as head teacher of Corbets Tey School

My teaching career began in a Thurrock special school as soon as I finished my BEd (Hons) and I remain committed to improving outcomes for all students who have additional needs.

At Corbets Tey I enjoyed setting up specialist classes and helping the school to gain its specialist status for communication and interaction. I am proud of our approaches to ensuring every student develops a functional communication system.

I am passionate about raising levels of aspiration and achievement for students of all abilities.  In our school I am committed to developing a culture in which initial barriers to learning are perceived as a stimulus for seeking the solutions to success.

My husband, Steve, also teaches students with additional needs and have two grown up sons.
